Workspace visibility is resolved from the authenticated identity and its permissions. An artifact that exists outside the current scope may not appear in search, browse, or API results.

Personal workspace

Your personal workspace is visible only to you. It has no member list, and other people cannot join it. Global Claude Code, Claude plugin, and Codex skills imported from your computer appear here. Use a shared workspace for skills that teammates need to find or maintain.

Shared workspace

A shared workspace has its own members and roles. Owners and admins manage the member list. Members can use and contribute to its context, while viewers have read-only access. See Manage workspaces to create a shared workspace, change its parent, or manage its members.

Check the scope

  1. Confirm the selected workspace in the sidebar.
  2. Open Browse in that scope and search for the artifact there.
  3. If it is a shared workspace you cannot read, use Join workspace only when that workspace makes the action available.
  4. Otherwise, ask a workspace admin to add you with the right role.
Do not treat a caller-supplied workspace identifier as proof of access.

Roles and access

Compare workspace roles and learn how joining and leaving work.
