# List artifacts

> Browse artifacts of one selected kind.

Use `registry__list_artifacts` to browse the latest version of each
non-archived artifact of one kind, ordered by most recently changed.

* Inputs: required `kind`; optional `limit` and `session_id`; plus `rationale`
  when Gateway enables it.
* Limit: defaults to 50 and accepts at most 500.
* Returns: visible artifacts of the requested kind.
* Effect: read only.

Use `registry__search_artifacts` when you need a specific artifact rather than a
recently changed page.
