# Start a work session

> Group related MCP calls under one reviewable session.

# Initialize a Registry session

Call `registry__initialise` once before the other tools so a reviewer can read
the related calls as one session.

* Required input: `objective`.
* Optional inputs: `client`, `client_version`, and `protocol_version`.
* Gateway can also require `rationale`.
* Returns: `{session_id, note}`.
* Effect: creates an `mcp_session` in the account's organisation root.

Observed client and protocol metadata can replace the values supplied in the
tool arguments. These fields are audit metadata and do not affect what the
caller can access.

Pass the returned `session_id` on later calls. Initialization itself does not
accept `session_id`.
