# Get Agent or harness run spans

> Read the spans inside one Agent or harness run.

Use `agent__get_trace_spans` for the model calls, tool calls, nesting, and
timing inside one run.

* Required inputs: `subject_id` and `trace_id`.
* Optional inputs: `limit`, `cursor`, `session_id`, and Gateway's `rationale`.
* Effect: read only.

Use `agent__get_trace` first to decide whether the run needs span-level detail.
Pass `cursor` back unchanged.
