# Query trace statistics

> Read aggregate usage, latency, error, token, and cost statistics.

# `registry__query_trace_stats`

Query aggregate OpenTelemetry trace statistics for the caller's account.

* Inputs: optional `scope` (`organisation`, the default, or `user`), `user_id`,
  and statistics `request`. User scope requires a stable user ID.
* Returns: requested time buckets, groupings, and prior-period comparisons when
  requested.
* Effect: read only.

This tool does not return raw traces or narrow to one artifact. A deployment
without a trace backend reports the capability as unavailable instead of
returning an empty result.
