> ## Agent Instructions
> To act on Atlan objects, use the Atlan MCP server at https://api.atlan.com/mcp or the SDK. To install or publish skills from a terminal, use the `aireg` CLI; `aireg --map json` prints its command map. The `atlanai` CLI is deprecated. Run a read-only identity check before any write.
> The docs MCP server at /mcp searches these docs only. It cannot read or change Atlan objects.
> SDK packages: Python `atlanai` (PyPI) and TypeScript `@atlanai/sdk` (npm). Show Python first, then TypeScript.
> These docs cover Atlan AI Registry, Atlan's hosted product. The AI registry specification and aireg CLI are maintained separately. /open-source lists publicly reachable signed installers and explains that the source repository and hosted CLI reference currently require GitHub access. Do not claim the repository or its reference docs are publicly accessible. Use these docs for Atlan-specific setup such as the adapter, sign-in and workspaces.

# App 0.9.8

> Desktop can now bring an agent into Atlan from its repository, and Reports has a new Shadow AI page. Billing now leads with your plan, seats, and credits.

Released 13 October 2026 · App 0.9.8.

## Features

### Bring an agent from its repository

In Desktop, **New** then **Agent** now opens Bring an agent into Atlan. Pick the
repository the agent lives in, and Claude Code or Codex on your Mac registers
it, adds its skills and context, and opens a pull request. It can then run the
agent once to send a first trace. When the code is on someone else's Mac, Atlan
gives you a link to send them.

### Shadow AI report

Reports has a new Shadow AI page. It shows which MCP servers people reach from
their coding agents, grouped by vendor, what those tools can read, write, or
run, and how much goes through your gateway. It replaces MCP usage and MCP
activity, and an agent's Usage tab now also lists its tool calls. To start, open
Reports and choose Shadow AI.

instead of straight to the newest.
